As per the history the main reason of establishing this garden was to serve British political officer because during that time the garden used to produce many kind of fruits like Guava, pineapple, oranges and many more and main specialty of the garden was Chini Champa which is a typical species of Banana and as they say every week the local gardener used to serve British political officer with a basket full of variety of fruits which he used to enjoy at his palace.

With a prospect to grow better fruits in best desire ways and in better manner, the gardener of that period Brij Lal Subba was sent to Saharanpur to learn all the methods related with fruit cultivation.

His predecessor after his loyal service worked and maintained this garden for three successive generations. The method to grow the fruits continued till 1940, until the forest department initiated I pecac from Malaysia.

With an introduction of I pecac the cultivation was done in different way but with in due course of time it proved to be miserable and unprofitable and it was stopped in 1970 but even with its breakdown the garden is still renowned with its name and people here call this garden as Ipecac.

Later in 1995 the garden started growing orchids of different species and many other floras was brought into the perks during the year of 1974 till 1980 and during 1990 the garden was totally converted into recreational garden.
