Karnataka is the southwest state of India, which is a popular tourist attraction. Tourists from around the globe visit this state during their vacations. The chief reason for the boost in tourism of this state is because of its capital, Bangalore which is largely growing as the IT centre of the country.
The large number of incoming tourists has led to establishment of good quality resorts and home-stays across the region, making your travel experience even better. Karnataka holds some of the best attractions in the world. Some of them topping the list are-

Bangalore
It is the capital city of Karnataka and also the merging point of racial and culture backgrounds. Nearly every person in this city speaks English, even if it is not so fluent. The people living in this city take pride of their whereabouts, in fact, every  resident of Bangalore, regardless of where they are from, take pride of staying or working at this place.

Mysore
With its past including kings, queens, conquests, rich patrons, fascinating durbars and pearled hallways, Mysore has a very rich history. Its winding streets and the striking monuments reminds you of the historic era of Wadiyars, Tipu Sultan and the British Raj. The city derives its name from Mahishaaura, the ruthless demon who was slain by the Chamundeshwari Goddess.

 The temple dedicated to this Goddess stands on top of Chamundi Hill, from where you can get the view of the entire city.  This impressive temple also holds one of the biggest monolithic Nandi statues in the country. Another chief attraction of this city is Mysore Palace, as the palace exhibits some of the stunning features like ornate ceilings, jeweled corridors, stained glass windows, colorful paintings and Wadiyar archives, including the jeweled throne.
Other major places of Mysore involve Jaganmohana Palace, Rajendra Vilas, Lalitha Mahal (now, the Lalith Mahal Palace Hotel) and the Jayalakshmi Vilas.

HAMPI (VIJAYANAGAR)
The ruined “City of Victory”, Vijayanagar, popular as Hampi is nestled among a dreamlike landscape of golden-brown boulders and banana fields. This place was previously a stunning Hindu capital which was later destroyed during a Muslim intrusion. Thus, some of the marvelous monuments of Hampi are in poor state, which appears to be much older than its original existence. Yet the site is one of the top attractions of Karnataka with its tranquil location along the riverside and its surroundings influencing a magical existence. The visitors get attracted to this place and spend days wandering around the whitewashed hilltop temples, witnessing the romantic view of sunset and spending time in cafes.

Gokarna
This is a town located in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka that is rapidly growing as a tourist destination because of its stunning beaches. Gokarna is one of the holy centers for Hindus because of the Mahabaleshwara Shiva Temple situated at this town. The chief attractions of this place are the Kudle Beach, Gokarna Beach, Half Moon Beach, Paradise Beach and Om Beach. Among these Gokarna Beach is the town’s chief beach as the pilgrims come to this beach when they visit the Mahabaleshwar Temple. The appealing temples and the scenic beaches of this place make it a popular tourist destination.

Udupi
The place is situated at a distance of around 400 km from Bangalore. Udupi is chiefly renowned among tourists for its temple which is dedicated to Lord Krishna. There is another temple at this place, considered to be over 1000 yrs old, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Udupi is also famous for its delicious food, as the Brahmins who provide offerings to the Lord, prepares plain and mouthwatering food. The dosas of this place is especially a renowned cuisine.

Other attractions close to this place are the stunning beaches of Malpe and the Yellur Shri Vishweshwara temple.

 Coorg
Coorg is a beautiful hill station which highly influences the visitors. Over here, you can witness the beautiful views of lush green hills, extended coffee plantation, colorful culture and hospitable inhabitants. The climate of this place offers as a perfect rereat from the scorching heat of the plain areas of the country. Its appealing charm, rich culture and delicious cuisine give you a memorable experience.
